The 'Pause Well Program

Ensuring women thrive through peri and post-menopause.

 

This three to four-month course comes to your work, home, church, or any other community setting to address the unique nutritional needs of women before, during, and after 'the pause.' With a mindful, body-positive approach, 'Pause Well is a series of monthly in-person group lessons and an online resource platform. The program educates women on the health-compromising effects of estrogen loss and hormone imbalance. It also equips women with diet and lifestyle strategies to help manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce disease risk. Your body is changing; you have to change with it. 

 

Mission

'Pause Well empowers midlife women to optimize their health throughout the hormonal changes of menopause by providing targeted nutrition education and actionable strategies that reduce disease risk, preserve metabolic functioning, and enhance quality of life. 

Nutrition Expertise 

Stacee Raber Nault is a nutritionist and wellness coach dedicated to elevating the health and well-being of peri- and post-menopausal women. Her mindful, body-positive approach addresses the unique nutritional needs of women during and after 'the pause' using science-backed strategies to improve energy and sleep, preserve muscle, reduce fat, and maintain heart and brain health. Her program utilizes education and proven behavior change theory strategies on an individual, group, and community basis to best support sustainable wellness habits for the long term.

 

Rationale

A woman spends 1/3 of her life in peri- and post menopause. This time is associated with debilitating symptoms like depression and insomnia, and chronic disease due to a loss of estrogen. Yet, few healthcare providers offer proven nutrition and lifestyle guidance that counteract the severe symptoms and health issues that plague women throughout this phase of life. 'Pause Well aims to fill the gap and equip women with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive throughout what traditional Chinese health care calls a woman's “second spring."  

Sample Program Curriculum (Course content can be tailored to your group's age, needs, and knowledge level.)

  • Lesson 1: Pause and Thrive — Introduction to the Mediterranean Diet. Activities: Set SMART Goals with/ Partner, Check Your Knowledge, and Rate Your Target Area. Guided Meditation for Clarity of Intention.

  • Lesson 2: Pause Smart -- Nutrition to Improve the Microbiome and Support Brain & Heart Health. Activities: Rate Your Target Area, Set SMART Goals, and Meditation for Stress Management

  • Lesson 3: Pause Empowered — Intuitive Eating & Body Positivity. Activities: Rate Your Target Area, set SMART Goals, and Meditation for Self-Acceptance

  • ​Lesson 4: Pause Together — Review Key Concepts. Activities: Rate Your Target Area, Group Sharing, San Kalpa Meditation (Vow to Self), Create Vision Boards, Evaluation Forms.
